✨ Holiday Style — Light It Up

My “Suites” have spoken. 🎄 You’re ready for the twinkle lights, the sparkle, and yes… the cozy. I’m talking plush knits, party dresses (and skirts), and that one look that says “I came to play, AND to slay.” Lucky for you, I don’t gate-keep around here, so I’m spilling my holiday fashion tea — from family-room chic to full-on glam. 🍸

🖤 The Living Room Look

Let’s start where the magic (and the mimosas) happen: the living room. For me, “holiday comfy” doesn’t mean giving up on cute. It’s all about an elevated matching set, soft knits, and chic slippers that make you look like you planned your outfit, even if you’re just on the couch shoveling cookies and cocoa down like Santa’s best elf. Pair it with a festive headband or a red lip and suddenly, you’re “home for the holidays” — main character edition. Bonus points if you add in a plaid throw blanket!

👠 The Dressy Edit

Then there’s the other side of the holiday coin — the soirées, the office parties, the “I might as well wear something sparkly because it’s December” energy. Think luxe textures: velvet, satin, faux fur and a pop of metallic (or black faux leather). An LBD (little black dress if you’re new to this) with statement earrings never misses. Or if you’re feeling bold, go for a rich emerald or deep wine tone — they always photograph well. My rule? If you wouldn’t wear it any other time of year because it feels “too much,” it’s probably perfect for December. 😉

💋 Where I Find the Good Stuff (and the Deals)

You already know I’m a mix-and-match girlie when it comes to fashion finds:
🛍️ QVC for those surprise gems (and easy-pay life savers)
🛍️ Old Navy for comfy chic basics, matching PJs, and nostalgic holiday magic that’s actually affordable — hello Super Cash! Also, do you remember those performance fleece commercials?! CLASSIC.
🛍️ DSW or Marshalls for all the footwear options in the game. Slippers, boots, blingy heels. Knock yourself out.
🛍️ Anthropologie, Nordstrom or Rent the Runway when I want to step it up a notch or have a winter gala to attend. Add in a coupon or a cash-back plug-in (I personally use Rakuten), and suddenly the whole outfit feels even sweeter.

💃🏽 Timeout for a Throwback: JCPenney, Grandma and Me

Every year, my Christmas dress came straight from the JCPenney holiday catalog — you know, the one that was basically the size of an encyclopedia back in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. 📚 Grandma would send it all the way to Bermuda for me and mom so we could flip through, circle our favorites, and plan all things holidays. We spent pretty much every Christmas in Connecticut, so by the time we arrived, our dresses were already waiting at Grandma’s house. And just in case we had a change of heart, she always had a backup plan: a trip to the mall (who am I kidding, we went there regardless)! Now, every time I shop for holiday looks, I swear a little part of me is still that kid with a red pen, circling magic and waiting to twirl in something new. ❤️

🎁 The Suite List: Holiday Edition

Here’s what’s topping my wish list (and maybe yours too):
✨ The perfect cozy-chic matching set. I SWEAR by the new Bounce Fleece line from Old Navy. It feels like the Spanx one for a fraction of the price!
✨ A sparkly party dress or skirt that feels like champagne. I usually hit up Marshall’s or LOFT for a special seasonal find.
✨ Velvet loafers that somehow go with everything – years ago I got this sequin and faux fur pair from Sam Edelman, but ALL their loafers are amazing.
✨ A statement coat that turns every errand into a runway. QVC and Dennis Basso. That’s all you need to know. He is the statement faux fur coat KING! Whether you’re hosting, hopping between parties, or lounging with cocoa — you deserve to feel a little (ok a lot) luxe.

Moral of the story: Holidays aren’t just about gifts under the tree — they’re about the moments, the memories, and yes… the outfits that make you feel like the mistletoe should be kissing you. Now go pour some cocoa (or a hot toddy), defrost Mariah, and start planning those lewks. 🎤💋
