Last night was Galentine’s dinner — which means ya girl showed up.
Red. A little sass. A faux fur that understood the assignment. The annual girls’ dinner that feels equal parts tradition and therapy session. I’ll share the full fit below (because obviously), but this morning? We were back to reality.
And by reality, I mean…
Me.
My bed.
Covered with sweaters.
Because something shifts right after mid-February. The stores seem to have flipped overnight — winter clearance is screaming 70% off (you know I love a sale), racks of pastels are creeping in, and mannequins are pretending it’s 62° outside when hunny… it’s absolutely NOT.
And suddenly you’re questioning everything in your closet.
💕 The Galentine’s Fit
Let’s start with the fun part.
Galentine’s always deserves intention. It’s not Valentine’s — it’s better. It’s chosen love. So the fit had to feel celebratory.
Feminine but not fussy. And yes, the fur pulled it together (as she should).
It felt grown. Confident. A little flirty. Exactly the vibe.

🧥 The Closet Reckoning
This morning, however? We entered edit mode.
I started semi-clearing the true holiday winter pieces — the ultra-seasonal sweaters, the “this only works in December” layers, the heavy textures and plaids that start feeling like too much once Valentine’s passes.
And here’s what I realized:
Some things are winter staples.
Some things are winter clutter.
There’s a difference.
If I didn’t reach for it once this season? It’s on probation.
If I wore it constantly? She’s staying.
No decision drama. Just closet clarity.
🌷 The Early Spring Bins
Then I made the mistake (or blessing?) of peeking into my early spring bins.
You know the ones — transitional knits, lighter blazers, soft pastels, those pieces that want it to be 55°.
And suddenly I was asking myself more questions:
- Would I buy this again today?
- Does this still feel like me (including new role/job me)?
- Can I consign this now while stores are craving spring inventory?
Because here’s the truth: stores are in full mega winter clearance + new spring arrivals mode.
Which means if I’m going to let something go, there’s no time like the present.
🛍️ Clearance Season Energy
There’s something slightly chaotic about walking into a store right now.
Boots marked down next to nothing.
Puffer jackets on final sale.
Meanwhile — linen trousers and Easter dresses are front and center.
It’s confusing.
But it’s also a reminder: retail moves faster than real life.
Your closet doesn’t have to.
You can clear thoughtfully.
You can keep what works.
You can let go of what doesn’t.
You don’t need to panic-buy spring because the mannequins said so.
Unless you have a warm Spring Break destination in the works. In that case – shop away!
✨ The Mood Right Now
Galentine’s glam last night.
Closet audit this morning.
Winter clearance everywhere.
Spring whispering in the background.
This is that in-between moment.
And honestly? I kind of love it.
So that’s what this weekend became — a mashup of sparkle and sorting. Of celebrating the girls and quietly asking, “Does this still fit – me and my life?”
And that feels very Suite.
So tell me — are you still feeling winter cozy, or are you mentally in spring already? 💕
